Case 46%, Lingle 33%; Stronger Than Hirono
Dear Friend:
Case 46%, Lingle 33%. That's Honolulu Civil Beat's independent poll result for the Senate general election.
In contrast, Mazie was up over Lingle only seven points, 46%-39%, and Civil Beat noted that we "appear to be running stronger" against Lingle than Mazie.
Like yesterday's Democratic primary poll result showing us ahead of Mazie, I'm very encouraged by our momentum going into election year. And I'm grateful for our statewide grassroots team that's been working so hard to bring our candidacy for strong effective leadership to where you live and work.
But I've learned the hard way that when you're ahead in polls, the negative attacks are not far behind. The super PACs and mainland/DC special interests backing Mazie will do everything to throw this election off what it's really about: who can get the job done for us in the Senate over the next generation.
We only have you. We need your help to answer the coming attacks and carry our message throughout Hawai'i right through general election day.
Will you contribute what you can ($10, $100, $1,000, up to the legal maximum of $5,000) today? Will you join our campaign 'ohana today? Can you ask others to do the same today?
Yes, it is that urgent. Primary election voting starts in just five months. Your kokua today and throughout the hard months ahead will truly make the difference.
Warm aloha,

Ed Case
