Case 47%, Hirono 46%, Says New Independent Poll

Dear Friend:

Case 47%, Hirono 46%!

That's the result of a brand new poll by independent Hawai'i news organization Civil Beat.

"Ed Case has the Democratic nomination for U. S. Senate within reach", concluded Civil Beat. "A snapshot taken 10 days before the election shows Case with the narrowest of leads and the momentum ...."

Wow! Talk about riding a rocket!

The last time I felt this kind of momentum was in the '02 Governor race against Mazie when we came back from 20 points down in the polls only two weeks out to just miss by 1%. (Mazie went on to lose to Lingle by 5%.)

No doubt this will come as a shock to the pundits and insiders, who've left us for dead a few times already. They just don't get it.

We offer what voters want: strong effective leadership in the Senate that'll get the job done for us all over the next generation. We're delivering our message not through big DC money but an incredible grassroots campaign of folks that want and intend to decide our future for ourselves.

And voters throughout Hawai'i are listening and deciding. The poll shows that we lead big among voters who watched our debate and have done their own research, and that the more voters compare us and think about it, the more they choose us.

This is and should be a choice for all voters. Our next Senator is a statewide election, and all voters can vote in the August 11th Democratic primary. As the Civil Beat poll confirms, the more voters that vote, the better we do.

We can't and won't let up in these final three days, not for a second. There's just too much at stake, for today and, yes, for the next generation.

Mahalo and aloha,
Ed
