Hirono $769,730, Case $11,500

Dear Friend:

Our campaign has promised you strong effective leadership for Hawai'i and our country in the Senate over the next generation. Leadership that's honest with you, preserves our values, breaks through the gridlock and makes decisions.

Leadership that gets the job done.

The latest fundraising reports are in. My Democratic opponent remains the choice of the DC insiders.

$769,730 of her money has come from special interest PACs, to only $11,500 for us.

About two-thirds of her money has come from the mainland, while three-quarters of ours is from Hawai'i.

Why does this matter? What does it mean to you?

As the Maui News said in endorsing my candidacy: "We hope Hawaii picks a senator who is going to be part of the solution, not part of the problem".

The problem is that the special interest PACs and other DC insiders and the politicians they control are only interested in what's good for them, not the country.

They're not willing or able to face our challenges, rise above the gridlock and make the decisions needed to grow our economy and achieve so many other goals.

Hawai'i deserves a Senator whose only loyalty is to you. A Senator with the ability, commitment, independence and direction from you to get the job done in DC, today and over the next generation.

I ask to serve you as that Senator.

But I need your help.

We may not have the big DC money, but we do have you. You've kept us in this campaign at close to tied with great momentum in these final five days.

Can you contribute today? Your contribution of $25, $250 or $2,500 will go to one thing only: boosting our statewide ads against the avalanche of PAC-bought spin now on air.

If you've contributed already, many thanks and we ask for your further support. If you've been thinking about it, we need your kokua now.

With you on our side, we can and will prevail on Saturday and deliver strong effective leadership in the Senate.

Mahalo and aloha,
Ed
