We were talking about food as usual, while working an all night flight home. Emil Antonio told us this was a no fail, good family recipe!

Emil's Adobo

5 lb. box of chicken thighs
6 cloves garlic, chopped
4 tsp. salt
½ cup shoyu
1 bay leaf
½ cup white vinegar
2 tsp. black pepper
½ cup water
dash of sugar to taste

Brown about 6-8 pieces of chicken at a time in a large pot adding more oil as necessary.
Remove and set aside until all the chicken has been browned.
Sauté garlic in same oil till golden; add the rest of the ingredients plus the chicken.
Cover and simmer about 45 minutes or until tender.
